New Café now open on the tranquil Southmere Lake in Thamesmead
If you are looking for the perfect spot for a lunch date or simply want lunch or coffee on the go, make The Y on the Lake your first port of call!
We offer a wide range of food to suit all tastes & dietary requirements. This includes toasted muffins filled with poached egg, avocado or cured streaky bacon. How about homemade pitta bread with red pepper hummus, spiced sweet potato, spinach & halloumi for lunch? There are lots of tasty toppings to choose from and food is all made fresh to order! We also offer a range of cakes, delicious pastries and hot & cold drinks are available.
Food is freshly prepared by our outstanding chef and is delicious yet affordable. We are easily accessible by foot, local transport or car (off-street parking is available).
Our café is an open plan, family and dog friendly space. Weather permitting, there is seating available outside and guests can enjoy brunch whilst taking in the views of the lake.
We are currently open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday but looking to extend this to weekend opening in the near future.
Our cafés & restaurants have been serving the local community for over 25 years and because we are here for good, you can always feel good about eating at the YMCA because all surpluses are used to fund projects that help vulnerable young people locally.
Catering for parties and corporate events
Whatever you are planning we can cater for it! We tailor our menus to suit all tastes and budgets. We cater for both on and off-site functions and deliver free of charge. We can supply waiting staff or if you prefer, a lay up and leave service.
Fresh & seasonal menu – our menus are seasonal and, wherever possible, we make everything in-house from scratch with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
