Twenty stroke survivors, many of whom are over 50 and vulnerable were able to enjoy a festive lunch on Thursday, November 25 thanks to a donation. The £500 donation was given to YMCA Thames Gateway by Kent Community Foundation allowing them to host a lovely lunch at the ‘Rising Sun’ in Dartford, Kent – they even took home a Christmas.
Those that attended were mainly members of the weekly YMCA fitness class held in Dartford to support them with their rehabilitation.
Natalie Smith, Director of Grants and Impact at Kent Community Foundation, said: “We were thrilled to support the Thames Gateway YMCA festive get together.
“It is always so satisfying to see that our funding makes a real difference to people’s lives, and we would love to hear from community groups and charities who need some financial help for their projects.”
