Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the launch of the UK Government Homes for Ukraine (H4U) scheme. Over 116,000 Ukrainians have arrived safely in the UK since.
In April we teamed up with Havering Council to open a one-stop shop, offering vital support to help Ukrainian refugees to settle in to the borough. The H4U team continue to provide language, educational and employment support and have now reached everyone in the Havering H4U scheme – which is around 370 people along with 12 families under the family visas. Such is the success of this scheme, it’s now being replicated in Kuwait and Eritrea.
As the war continues, the people of Ukraine still need help and the Council are welcoming more hosts to come forward to support re-matching of guests who need somewhere safe to stay – Homes for Ukraine Anniversary | The London Borough Of Havering
