Back in 1991, a group of local people met in a front-room to discuss what they could do for local homeless people. From that beginning, The Bridge Trust grew into what we are today – a provider of quality support and accommodation for homeless people in the West Kent region.
The Bridge Trust Project (TBTP) has helped thousands of people through supported housing – provided accommodation for over 700 people and helped over 6,000 homeless people with advice, accommodation and support.
Over the years, TBTP has raised money to buy and lease properties in Tonbridge, Southborough and Tunbridge Wells.
We have introduced many initiatives that have improved the service we offer to our clients and have been recognised for our work through awards such as the West Kent Business Excellence Award in 2009 and a Lloyds Bank Foundation South East Charity Award in 2015.

Fast forward to January 2022, and TBTP is now a part of YMCA Thames Gateway Group and we continue to provide vital, localised work but with the potential to support even more homeless people, drawing on the skillset, knowledge and support of another charity that houses 450 people across Essex, Kent and London every night.
